You’ve GOT to Hear This & An Interview with fiN!On November 20th, fiN debuted the official video for Lucky You, a single which will soon be accompanied by the band’s next release Life Is Wasted On The Living. Lucky You is a wonderful song. Things to adore? Definitely keep an ear out for the swinging guitar melody and falsetto. Once the song breaks into the “bah bah ba ba” swaying over the drums and back into the chorus, the song comes together into complete jubilation.

Recently introduced to the band, I must say that there’s not one section of this single you can’t love. I had the opportunity of listening to upcoming single Life Is Wasted On The Living! Certain exuberance continues throughout this song, and fiN has made this energy pretty hard to ignore. The charm of it not only carries out through the lively intro, but it also maintains its feel throughout the whole song. It’s a track with a definite message, yet it has such a good-time vibe that it allows you to swim along with every lyric sung.

If you love Lucky You as much as I do, then you must keep an eye out for Life Is Wasted On The Living. Until then, check out this new interview with the enthusiastic and wholehearted fiN!

AMBY: For those who haven’t had the pleasure of hearing you, how would you describe fiN’s sound in three words?

fiN: That’s easy: Epic Alt. Rock.

AMBY: Who influences fiN as musicians and songwriters?

fiN: The four of us have very different music tastes but bands like Mansun, Smashing Pumpkins, dEUS, Radiohead and Foals always make the touring van playlist.

AMBY: I have to ask, what’s the story behind the name?

fiN: We wanted a short and sharp name that looks good on a stadium backdrop as that has always been our ambition. The upper case ‘N’ is a nod to Luke’s favourite band dEUS.

AMBY: Your double A side single will be released December 3rd! How excited are you for that guys?!

fiN: Life Is Wasted has been a favourite at our shows since we started touring so we can’t wait to get more people singing along.

AMBY: My ears had the opportunity of hearing the two tracks, and I really love Life Is Wasted On The Living, what’s the story behind the song?

fiN: Life Is Wasted On The Living is a song about putting aside the stressful material things in life for a moment and focusing on the true things that make you happy which for us has always been this band and the ability to make music.

AMBY: Is there an album in the works?

fiN: Life Is Wasted is the fourth double A-side single from our debut album which we will be releasing digitally early next year. We’re all big fans of vinyl from our youth when you could go and hang out in a record shop and flick through whatever had come in that week to discover new bands and artists and so all our singles to date have been released exclusively on 7″.

AMBY: Who’s the best band in the world? …And who’s the worst?

fiN: Best band: Nirvana… end of! Worst: According to google it is Creed.

AMBY: What is the best song of 2012 so far?

fiN: Foals new track Inhaler is immense. It’s definitely got the best riff of 2012.

AMBY: And lastly, what’s something about fiN’s that nobody knows yet?

fiN: We can’t ever agree on anything and all decisions have to go through an arduous democratic vote.
