The ClockTower are creating their collective sound by combining Brit-pop and mod vibes together… Brit-pod? Well, whatever you’d like to call it, the outcome of their music will always be more than admirable. But a genre is just a genre without talented band members coming together to create some commendable noise. Lucky enough, this Wolverhampton four-piece have “Hilda”, “Krishna”, “Ringo” and “Jonny Big Back”, all great musicians who bring something to the table. The band took some time to answer a few questions for AMBY, so take a look at what The ClockTower are all about!
AMBY: How would you describe The Clocktower’s sound in three words?
The ClockTower: Loud , Upbeat, and Catchy
AMBY: Your debut album The Days of Rosy Row is now released! Which tracks off it are your favourite?
The ClockTower: It would be really hard to pick fav song of the album as all tracks are amazing! There’s a great mix of catchy hooks, melodic sounds and vocals, a mix of slow, fast and upbeat so can be depending on your mood really ! So can be as hair neck raising Things Will Fall or as upbeat and sing and jump around to Kiss Ya Glass.
AMBY: Where did your name come from?
The ClockTower: The Clocktower name was taken from a a band Holiday in Torquay, Babbacombe! It was actually the name of a class pub there.
AMBY: If you weren’t in a band what would you be doing?
The ClockTower: If we weren’t in a band I think we would all defo be involved in the music industry behind scenes ” our drummer Connor is awesome on the tech side ” Ian is a great song writer and a perfectionist and great with experience in Lyrics and melodies so maybe a writer … Ryan frontman is an amazing all rounder so any of the previous! Also bass player Andy is a great promoter so there ya go!
AMBY: If you were to cover any song, which would it be any why?
The ClockTower: We don’t really do cover songs but we’ve always said if we did it would have to be by a great remembered inspirational band like Oasis, Ocean Colour Scene , ect ect. As everyone knows the words to sing a long and also makes ya reminisce.
AMBY: Who do you wish would just go away?
The ClockTower: Simon Cowell (destroying the music industry) for live bands and people that work hard!
AMBY: Which artists have you been listening to lately?
The ClockTower: Lately we’ve been all listening to The Moons, Jake Bugg, our tour manager also plays a lot of old rock n roll and rock music on the way to long gigs to get us pumped up and in the mood! Bands like Kinks and rock bands like Steel Panther and QOSA and Steel Panther ha.

The ClockTower: Mmm? Kiss Ya Glass- The Clocktower. Bass player Andy O’B loves ELUSIVE by a good friend who’s signed to Island Records called Scott Matthew.
