Being in this band is a constant joy. Even after a long day at work, faced with the prospect of standing in a cold, draughty cellar for three hours when all you want to do is lie on the sofa and relax, as soon as the music starts there is nowhere you’d rather be. It helps us that we’re all good friends and enjoy each other’s company, it must be hell when people are constantly rowing.
We’ve been together in one form or another since 2010 but Dan (our singer) joined a year ago. We’ve been working on perfecting a sound that we can call our own and feel that we’re getting pretty close now, we’ve got three songs on SoundCloud that have been given positive reviews. It’s such a rush when people like your music, you put a lot of yourself into it and the moment that you release it for public consumption is filled with excitement but also trepidation.
We plan to put a couple more on SoundCloud in the next few months, and then possibly self-release an EP at some point later in the year. In the meantime if anyone would like a free CD with individual artwork on the front then just send us your address to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll post one out once our new song is done.
The internet is amazing, it is easy to take it for granted but sometimes it still blows your mind. Our SoundCloud this week shows that we’ve had people listening to our music in Canada, Sweden and Hungary. That’s just mad. From a dingy cellar in Manchester, England we can reach people from all over the world.
We have some gigs in Manchester over the next few months, so if anyone is about please do stop by and we’ll make you feel very welcome. If not then visit our SoundCloud and have a listen, let us know what you think. Or say hello on Facebook.
Finally thank you so much to A Music Blog, Yea? for featuring and supporting us!
