You’ve GOT To Hear This: “The Wooden Sky”

The Wooden SkyWith the weather still brisk, I can’t help but default to folk.  A genre that pairs wonderfully with chilly air, dark nights and snow covered trees, I am always on the hunt for more.  Having stumbled across The Wooden Sky, I was instantly captivated and knew I was in luck.

From Toronto, Ontario, The Wooden Sky have a sound that is folksy, lovely, and soothing.  Their latest album Every Child a Daughter, Every Moon a Sun is the perfect remedy for restlessness; listening to the record is bound to calm, and lull you into a state of ease.  The opening track Child of the Valley sets the tone for the album, slowly building with effectively clever repetition; “you’re not a stone, you’re not a stone, just flesh and bone, just flesh and bone” echoes towards the end of the song, lingering as the feeling of tranquility.

Feel like relaxing to some Canadian folk? Then You’ve GOT to Hear This.

Check out The Wooden Sky’s new album, you can stream it from their website. Follow them on Facebook and Twitter if you fancy.
