Hi everyone, I’m Dan Solan, a singer-songwriter from Warrington, (In between Manchester and Liverpool for those that don’t know it!) and along with the band have recorded our debut album ‘Hands on Another’ at Astar Studios in Heywood, UK, recorded and produced by Mercury nominated producer Andy Ross. The 10 track album is set for release in the latter half of 2013 and tracks taken from it have been played on radio stations including Salford FM, WA12 Radio, Halford FM, Liverpools KCC FM and are awaiting airplay from BBC Introducing Manchester.
Our style has been compared to the likes of ‘Radiohead’, ‘Richard Ashcroft’ and ‘Coldplay’ amongst others, which as a big fan of these artists I’m extremely happy about. Other influences for writing come from a big love of ‘Jeff Buckley’, ‘Elbow’, ‘The Verve’ and too many to mention! I like to add ‘drama’ to a piece, a chord or a lyric here and there that tugs on your soul, so to speak. I strive to get how I really felt at the time of writing a song out in it’s final form, and to get as much emotion out into a live track as there was at the time of writing it.
The band include myself (Guitars/ Lead Vocals) Karl Hand (our drummer and percussionist), Steven Kent (Guitar/Vocals) and Anton Rowenski (Bass). We currently perform regularly in Warrington, Manchester and Liverpool, and in a variety of outfits, solo and full band, both acoustic and plugged.
After getting to the finals of ‘Rock the House 2013’ (Parliamentary competition), we have booked ourselves a list of gigs/radio interviews to really try to get our music out to as many people as possible. Special thanks go out to all of our supporters, Joe Cambell of Liverpools ‘Culture City Television’, and ‘Kerry Barrett Turley’ who have both helped us in so many ways I can’t list them here..
I have to add that without the band, the opportunities we’ve had just wouldn’t have surfaced, and the times on stage wouldn’t have been the same.
The gigging is something we all continue to enjoy and really put the effort in doing as much as we can. We all look forward to performing in the coming months across the North-West, and can’t wait to get the album out to all of you!
