We’re Casimer&Casimir – the finest American uncle-nephew duo since LMFAO (RIP).
In an impulsive escape from the Mitten of Mediocrity, Nephew Casimir arrived on Uncle Casimer’s Chicago doorstep in the blizzard-bound winter of 2010, pleading “I like it here, can I stay?” With ready warmth and red wine, Uncle indeed had the vacancy for a backscrubber.
A joint affinity for the divine grape and a shared aversion to white socks established the creative bond that inspired hours of delightfully reckless, synth-fueled jams. In the vein of the British Royal Family, these jams eventually started to shapeshift from reptilian kraut-minded operations into proper, well-mannered pop songs. One of these pop songs, “O Sweet Joe Pye,” is seeing a 7” release via Brille Records on October 28 b/w an English-tongued reworking of Eli et Jacno’s 1979 chef d’oeuvre, “Anne Cherchait L’Amour.”
Casimer&Casimir are often spotted meandering outside of north side underground clubs in the afterhours attempting to organize religious getaways with unaccompanied strangers.
