White Summer recently dropped their latest EP What I’ve Been Waiting For. The Phillip Island, Australia trio (comprised of Jimmy Stanfield, Michael Barnsley, and Anthony Zielke) recently spoke with A Music Blog, Yea? about wanting to move to Mars, heckling, and touring the East Coast! Get familiar with the blues-rock makers here:
AMBY: Hey White Summer, how are you and what’s the band been up to lately?
White Summer: Hello A Music Blog, Yea? Great name. We’re great! Very busy promoting our new EP and writing new material.
AMBY: How would you describe each member of White Summer in one word?
White Summer: Misunderstood.
AMBY: Your EP What I’ve Been Waiting For is extremely good! Which song off it is your favourite?
White Summer: Thank you! I really like “Chugg Fuzz” because it has a really “stop for nothing” flow, which makes it really fun to play live.
AMBY: What’s the EP’s lead single Head In The Sand about?
White Summer: Realizing the world isn’t the innocent place you once believed it was and drawing comparisons between now and when I was younger.
AMBY: I have to ask about your Facebook cover photo – what’s the story behind it?
White Summer: I want to move to Mars in 20 years and this photograph resembled what my life might be like there.
AMBY: What song could you live without ever hearing again?
White Summer: Crazy Frog song, I’m still trying to understand How? What? Why?
AMBY: What’s the funniest thing to happen to White Summer at a gig?
White Summer: Being heckled before we had even started playing.
AMBY: What’s the best release of the year?
White Summer: …Like Clockwork or II by UMO
AMBY: I caught the recent post about Jimmy’s bike accident. How’s he holding up?
White Summer: I’m lucky to be walking so everything else is a breeze, thanks for asking J
AMBY: And lastly, what’s something about White Summer that nobody knows yet?
White Summer: We’re touring the East Coast in January!
Thank you White Summer, for giving us your answers!
