There’s a real old school sound to Juke, not surprising with influences cited such as BB King, Muddy Waters, The Clash, Springsteen, and Howling Wolf. But there’s a freshness too that brings the band’s love of soul and rhythm and blues to a modern audience with indie sensibility.
“Pins and Needles” is the debut single from the Southend four piece. Only recorded in April it has been immediately picked up for radio play by the likes of Gary Crowley and Aaron Phillips on Amazing Radio. A very bright start for a band just formed last year, but who seem to be picking up fans with each successive live performance.
Juke are Tom Cunningham on vocals and guitar, Keiran Brown on lead guitar, Matt Lamb on drums, and Miles Hobbs on bass. All just 18 or thereabouts, they make good time rock and roll that crosses generations in timeless fashion. Lend them your ears.
