Great to (sort of) officially meet. My name is [SEBELL]. That’s not the name on my birth certificate, but it is the phonetic spelling of my last name, which is pretty much impossible to Google. I figured I’d spare you the trouble.
I grew up in British Columbia. Moved to Nashville a few years back to write, record and plug into the growing indie music scene there. Over the past year I’ve lived out of a suitcase, spending time in LA, Vancouver, Toronto, and anywhere else the music takes me. It’s a crazy life, but I love it.
My sound can be best described as alt-pop. The current single at Top 40 radio, “Till the Sun Burns Out,” is the one exception. It’s pretty much a straight-up summer pop song. A few months back, a friend of mine, Davey Badiuk (Tegan & Sara, Dragonette), did a remix of the original version and right after that the song broke the Top 40 national radio charts. Crazy. Never planned it this way, but I am so grateful for the support.
In the interest of getting better acquainted, I think one of the best ways to do so is with a good old-fashioned Q&A. I love travelling and I love Toronto, so I thought I’d fill you in on my favourite haunts in the city. If you have any more suggestions, reach out on Twitter (@sebellmusic). Would love to hear them.

Touring Plans: I’m currently in the studio finishing the first EP, but I can’t wait to hit the road and start playing these new songs live. There are plans to do some secret shows in select Canadian cities starting this fall, so keep in touch on Twitter and Instagram to be the first to know.
Thanks for hanging. Hope to see you all on the road soon!
