If you haven’t already bought tickets, you should check out this year’s Downtown Festival. The festival, which began in 2013, is run by Downtown Records, and is dedicated to providing a stage for a variety of artists in 5 cities across the country each year. This year’s lineup has a medley of artists from genres ranging from R&B to electronic, rap, and soul among others. Even if you do not know all of the names on the line-up, the festival is meant for music discovery, not everyone attending will be a hardcore fan.
I received an exclusive from Kenny Vasoli of Vacationer on his feelings about the festival: “We can’t wait for the festival at Webster [Hall]. We’ve had increasingly good times there. NY holds a big place in our hearts, it’s the city we’ve played the most as a band. It will be a pleasure to represent the Downtown family and reignite the vibes on that stage.” Vacationer is performing October 4th at Webster Hall; they released their album Relief this year and their relaxed, happy sound will provide a fun vibe and a great way to end the summer.
Downtown Festival NYC is being held this Thursday October 2nd through Saturday October 4th. The lineup is as follows:
October 2nd: Irving Plaza
Jungle
October 3rd: Webster Hall
Kiesza

October 4th: Webster Hall
