Nashville rock and roll duo Eulene Sherman and Angelo Petraglia are The Jane Shermans. After releasing their groovy rock single I Walk Alone, we spoke with the band to discuss upcoming releases, writing for other artists, and fuzz-ukulele. Here’s what they had to say:
AMBY: Hey The Jane Shermans, welcome to our site! What have you both been up to lately?
Eulene: Freaking people out in our Halloween costumes.
AMBY: How would you describe each other in one word?
The Jane Shermans: (Eulene on Angelo): “open” / (Angelo re Eulene): “systematic”
AMBY: What’s the story behind your new single I Walk Alone?
Eulene: Vignette’s on the dichotomy of uncertainty & knowing.
AMBY: What’s next for you as far as recording or releases go? Is there an EP or record in the works?
Angelo: We have an EP & LP in the can. Release date TBD.
AMBY: Angelo has written and produced records for Kings of Leon, Taylor Swift, and others. Did you find it easier or more difficult to channel a sound/write music for yourself rather than another artist?
Angelo: Definitely harder to write for yourself. There is the missing – one degree of separation – that can be valuable.
AMBY: What would a movie based on the band be called?
The Jane Shermans: Fruits of Puberty.
AMBY: Which other artists from Nashville should we keep our eyes on?
The Jane Shermans: Good question…we can’t honestly answer that. Not sure.
AMBY: Lastly, what’s something about The Jane Shermans that nobody knows yet?
Angelo: Eulene may be playing fuzz-ukulele on the next record.
Thank you The Jane Shermans, for giving us your answers!
