Hinds (formerly known as Deers) bring about Bamboo, a lo-fi track that is sure to attract lovers of catchy hooks and strident vocals.
It’s not every day that a new band can have the opportunity to support The Libertines on their 2014 European tour and the chance to support The Vaccines at one of their London gigs. It is also rare for a new band to play South By Southwest and go on a world tour in a matter of months. Yet all this was possible for Hinds, an up-and-coming garage band from Madrid who just debuted with two singles Demo and Barn last year. Demo contains their ear-piercingly energetic track, ‘Bamboo’ which introduces the band’s optimistic spirit.
Fun-loving singers Carlotta Cosials and Ana García Perrote do not shy away from raucousness on their track, ‘Bamboo’. Filled with enthusiasm, both feed off of each other’s energy with free, ardent vocals that compliment each other. This gives off an air of congeniality between the two girls, showing their contentment in performing with friends. Adding Ade Martín on bass (who opens the track with a catchy bassline) and Amber Grimbergen on drums, it is obvious that these girls just take pleasure in playing with each other and, while doing so, bring a sound that mixes the liveliness of The Parrots and the lo-fi garage rock of Mac Demarco.
The band begins recording their first album during April of 2015 and are confirmed to play BST Hyde Park and Festival Internacional de Benicàssim that summer. With their early success and their cheerful spirit on this track, Hinds most definitely have a bright future to look forward to.
