It’s been well over a year since we caught up with ATLAS on the release of their debut EP. With lead singer Zac Pajak splitting his time between summers in the UK and winters working on the ski slopes of Europe, live dates have been necessarily scarce over recent months but that’s set to change with gigs coming up to mark the full release of their second EP “Marble Hill”.
The video captures an acoustic performance of lead track “Pauline” filmed before Zac’s must recent winter stint, filmed by Tom Carroll and Harrison Peck of the team at Shoot The Music. It works as a stripped down performance showcasing the bands’ musicianship, around an upbeat tune with darker lyrics that might be a tale of young love lost but equally could reference a parting with an older figure – let the listener decide.
The full production recorded version of the track fills out the sound more, and has echoes of the sound of an earlier band Deacon Blue. Along with tracks “Love or Something”, “The Day I Die” and “Blind” the Marble Hill EP marks a strong second round from the band. Well worth seeking them out over the summer before the inevitable coming of winter puts a seasonal pause on their progress.
