After bringing their infectious energy and gothic-pop tunes across North America and recently wrapping up their 2015 Summer Tour, Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas shared their latest single Don’t Take My Man to Idaho with fans. In our latest Five Favourite Fab Gigs, we had the pleasure of speaking with Hernandez to discuss her all-time favourite concerts, including a surprise No Doubt show and private Black Lips gig. Enjoy her stories below:

Le Tigre at St. Andrews in Detroit – I was 16 and it was when I first started being able to drive myself downtown for shows. It was one of my first shows without parents at St. Andrews Hall. My friend Kelly and I danced our asses off and I was a forever fan of Le Tigre after that.

No Doubt opening for The Rolling Stones in Detroit – My parents surprised me and my brother with last minute tickets to see the Rolling Stones in Detroit. I had no idea that the show was even happening that night and when I got my ticket in my hand I saw that No Doubt was opening. I freaked out. That was my first time seeing both of them.

Buena Vista Social Club in Detroit – They played at an outdoor amphitheater outside of the city. My whole family are huge fans and my brother and I grew up listening to them a lot. The entire Cuban family went and danced and it was an incredible show.

Black Lips at SXSW – I had been a really big fan of Black Lips but for whatever reason had never gotten a chance to see them. A few years ago they were playing a private event at SXSW and I got to see them up close and personal. Also I was standing next to Aziz Anzari which was super random but awesome. It was a great day!

Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings in Detroit – I’ve actually seen them a bunch of times in the past eight years and they never disappoint. They put on a damn good show and are all the sweetest people in real life.
