Gregory Pepper & His Problems — the stage name of self-taught musician, visual artist, and multi-instrumentalist Gregory Pepper — shared his latest record release Chorus! Chorus! Chorus! on August 21st.
With song titles like Smart Phones For Stupid People, I Wonder Whose Dick You Had To Suck?, and I’m Bill Murray, we immediately had the feeling that the songwriting on Chorus! Chorus! Chorus! would be as whimsical yet blunt as they come, and we weren’t wrong. Flooding with cheeky humour, the sharp power-pop record has Pepper showcasing the self-loathing satire of Kurt Cobain with the vocal nuances of Rivers Cuomo.
Today we’re pleased to premiere the video for the album’s Come By It Honestly — a melancholic and melodic track which clocks in just under two minutes. The video shows Pepper submerged in a bath tub, serenading all viewers while holding his breath underwater in real-time for the entire song. When asked about the film-clip, Pepper shared;
“it was fucking torture filming it, I had to hold my breath for about 1:30 which, as an out of shape smoker, nearly killed me.”
Chorus! Chorus! Chorus! is now available for purchase via Fake Four Inc. here. Exclusively watch Come By It Honestly on AMBY and follow updates from Gregory Pepper below.
