Comprised of Braeden Henderson, Oliver Dobrian, Jake Stein, and Baxter Bailey, The End Of Summer are currently releasing a fresh single every month and we’re delighted to exclusively premiere their debut, Bride & Groom. Now, don’t let the band name deceive you — although called The End of Summer, this Los Angeles indie-pop foursome deliver soaring synths and bright melodies in the new wistfully dreamy release.
Bride & Groom was recorded with Grammy-winning engineer Tom Biller (Kanye West, Silversun Pickups, Elliott Smith) and mastered by Jeff Lipton (Arcade Fire, Wilco, Spoon). When asked about the song, the band shared with AMBY;
“This song is the pinnacle of a long meditation on the interaction between love and death. It’s a story about someone trying to have a good life in spite of his knowledge that it will one day be ripped away from him. The process of completing the song was rife with pain and difficulty which mirrored that aspect of the subject matter. We mixed much of it on our own and had to sort of teach ourselves how to do that as we went. That meant a lot of frustrating trial and error, because this is our first single and we felt a lot of internal pressure to get it right. Happily, it resulted in something we’re all very proud of.”
