It feels like AMBY goes way back with We’re No Heroes (Tom Collins, Luke Llewellyn, and Michael Owen). We remember speaking with them about their favourite gigs, interviewing them back in 2013, and seeing the always fantastic photographs of the lads running around with the WNH letters. Now, two years later, this Cardiff three-piece are gearing up for the release of their kinetically groovy, disco-infused single Stay Weird. Not only is it one hell of a catchy tune — it also has an amazing message. When asked about the song, We’re No Heroes shared with us;
“Stay Weird’s been a concept we’ve wanted to make into a song for quite some time and haven’t fully realized until now. It’s a ethos we’ll probably return to in future music too. About being true and real, being yourself and proud of how different you are but also, that we’re all in the same boat. We’re all different and this is to be celebrated.”
Today we’re pleased to premiere the video for the single which is a hilarious story of the highs, lows, and thriving return of a food photographer and his artsy career.
Despite what the band’s name suggests, these charmers are creating something infectiously offbeat and are easily (and quickly) on their way to becoming modern day indie-funk heroes.
Stay Weird is scheduled for release digitally on November 13th and the double a-side vinyl single release (Stay Weird / Voodoo) is scheduled to drop on November 27th via Spiral Icon.
