4 concerts to check out in Edmonton this December

Dragonette, Young Empires, and Dirty Radio: December 8th

Canada has some great homegrown bands and December 8th there will be a spectacular trio of them playing at the Starlite Room. The tour has flown by with great momentum through Montreal, Waterloo, Toronto and now soon Edmonton. So, if you like electronic music and feel like a party this would be a great night out.

Half Moon Run: December 11th

I saw this band at Sonic Boom music festival a few years back and these guys play a fantastic concert. They have a knack for griping and energizing the entire audience. Half Moon Run is a Canadian Indie-rock band and this tour is to show off their new album “Sun Leads Me On”. The concert will be held at the Starlite Room.

Molly Johnson: December 11th

On December 11th, Molly Johnson is performing at the Arden Theatre. She is a Canadian pop and jazz singer/songwriter. Johnson has excellent vocal ability and her music ranges from charming to soulful. This would be a great concert to attend if you are looking for a relaxing Friday evening to wind down from the week.

Current Swell: December 12

Last but not least, I am so pleased this west coast indie-rock band is coming to Edmonton. Current Swell has this unique sound that mixes blues, folk, rock and a few other genres to deliver one melodious hit after the other. They released the EP “Home Is Where You Make It” this summer and are now making their rounds flaunting its beauty. The concert in Edmonton will be held at Union Hall.
