The Essex music scene seems to be particularly vibrant at the moment, and five piece Jackals Rose seem set to take the fuzz rock out of Clacton-on-Sea to a much broader stage in 2016. Jake, Max, Darren, Zak and Grant have crafted their sound through hard work on the live circuit featuring gigs at the likes of Camden’s iconic Dublin Castle over the last twelve months and more.
“D.I.D” (or “Devil In Disguise”) is the second single from Jackals Rose, the follow up to their 2015 debut release “All For You”. The track was produced by Nick Gavrilovic (who tours with Placebo), with the black and white performance video shot and edited by Liam Masters, brother of drummer Grant. It’s a big, skuzzy sound – punk rock you can dance to, like an edgier Kasabian.
The track has been garnering the band a fair bit of attention as a Radio X Track of The Week, with plays across BBC Introducing, as well as being made Track of The Day by Fred Perry and Gigslutz, with This Feeling very much championing their cause. April sees the band return to the capital with dates at Barfly and Birthdays as well as further afield in The Verve Bar in Leeds. Which all sets the band up well for an assault on the summer festival season, with a slot at Party In The Pines already confirmed.
