It’s an exciting time to be Toronto-based musician and songwriter Kirty as the release of her eponymous album is on the horizon. Serving as the first single from the record, AMBY is pleased to premiere That’s Not Me — a sun-soaked, self-coined “summery Sheryl Crow-inspired jam”, featuring Kirty’s lush vocals and dreamy harmonies. When asked about the single, Kirty shared with us;
“That’s Not Me was written about being in a relationship where you feel like an accessory in the other person’s life. I have too many goals and ambitions of my own to be in a one-sided relationship, and this song explains that kind of resistance. This is my summery Sheryl Crow-inspired jam.”
Kirty will be playing a series of release shows throughout the summer where she will perform in Toronto and her hometown Orillia, and there will be more singles and videos from the forthcoming record to follow. When not focusing on creating beautiful tracks under Kirty, this songstress lends time to indie-rock group Fast Romantics.
Kirty is scheduled for release on September 23rd on Postwar Records (founded by Fast Romantics frontman Matthew Angus) and is available for pre-order here. Exclusively stream That’s Not Me on AMBY and follow updates from Kirty below.
