We’re thrilled to introduce our readers to Pennsylvania songstress Liz Longley and her forthcoming, highly-anticipated album Weightless.
Recorded in Nashville with Bill Reynolds (known for his work with Band of Horses, Avett Brothers, and Lissie), the album is comprised of ten intimate songs that showcase Longley’s heartfelt stories, all delivered to fans in a pop-rock package of lyrically genius.
The album is a personal release that leaves Longley vulnerable at times, but just when you feel she’s about to share too much, she quickly stands her ground with the sharp, cunning lyrics that tell tales of the complexities of relationships.
Weightless beautifully features juxtaposition throughout the record as Longley’s angelic vocals are often paired up against cunning lyrics and passionate, cinematic, instrumental build-ups (as shown on What’s the Matter and Only Love This Time Around). When asked about the album, Longley shared with AMBY;
“I’m thrilled for people to hear my new record, Weightless. I had the best time making this album! Working with Bill Reynolds in the studio was a dream come true. I couldn’t have asked for a better producer by my side. I hope people enjoy listening and singing along to this record as much as I’ve enjoyed writing and recording these songs.”
Today AMBY is delighted to exclusively premiere Weightless ahead of its release on August 26th via Sugar Hill Records. Exclusively stream the record on AMBY and follow updates from Liz Longley below.
