Exclusive EP Premiere: Shape of the Sun – “Artificial Hearts”

Shape of the Sun

Obsessive compulsive indie rock artist Shape of the Sun is back, this time bringing us Artificial Hearts, his latest EP featuring the tracks ‘Real Boy’, ‘We are the Ones’ and ‘He Kept Mostly to Himself’.  Artificial Hearts is a great choice for fans of Spoon, The Shins and Cold War Kids.

“The Vibe (of Artificial Hearts) is kind of dark” muses Nate Linek, the mastermind behind Shape of the Sun. “It’s a play on technology taking over, people not being who they want to be and loving things that shouldn’t matter”

Shape of the Sun is actualized entirely by Linek who records and mixes everything himself; flexing his musical muscle as a modern-day one-man band and melodious mad scientist.  “The best part is I have total control; the only arguments are with myself. The worst part is the time it takes to do it all yourself and not having other bandmates to bounce things off.”

Artificial Hearts will be the first in a series of three EPs released by Shape of the Sun over the next nine months. Each release will contain three songs built around a concept specific to the EP itself and be released three months apart. Linek credits his OCD and childhood fixation on the number as the reason he does everything in groups of three.

In support of the EP, Shape of the Sun will perform live on STAGE-IT on Saturday, October 15th at 9:00pm. The online performance platform allows Linek to perform for his loyal community of fans that span the globe.

Today AMBY is pleased to premiere Artificial Hearts prior to its official release on October 14th! Exclusively stream the EP on AMBY and follow updates from Shape of the Sun below.
