Sunface 2

It’s nearly a year since AMBY gave an exclusive premiere to SUNFACE track “(In My Dreams) I Have It All”, which went on to become Huw Stephens’/Phil Taggart’s Pick of the Week on BBC Radio 1. After headlining AMBY’s summer gig with his band TRASH, and a recent sold out show at The Lexington with Get Inuit, Daniel Longmore has returned to his solo project to release SUNFACE’s “EP2”.

We’re delighted here at AMBY to give a premiere today to “I’m Not Always Sad” ahead of the EP’s release on Friday March 10th on Clue Records. The track continues in the lo-fi bedroom vein of the first EP, melding a summery musical vibe with economical lyrics which may seem melancholy but are really about being true to yourself in the face of sadness. As Daniel explains: I’m Not Always Sad” has 4 lines in it but I think it sends a very powerful message. When I’m sad I’m REALLY sad and I won’t try and hide it.”

Lyrics:

“i’m not always sad

but if i am you’ll know about it

do you love me girl?

i doubt it”

Whilst available digitally there’s a treat in store for those who like to physically hold their media in the shape of a very limited cassette release (but hurry – just 15 copies available via BandCamp) containing exclusive bonus tracks, including a copy of The Marketts’ “Out Of Limits”, familiar to fans of Quentin Tarantino’s movie Pulp Fiction and the Collector’s Edition of its ace soundtrack.

Tracklisting:

Digital: 1) Stay Happy 2) I’m Not Always Sad 3) Melt 4) Silver Lining 5) Two Things

Cassette: Side A : 1) Stay Happy 2) I’m Not Always Sad 3) Melt; Side B: 1) Silver Lining 2) Birthday Girl 3) Two Things 4) Out Of Limits
