After seeing Jagwar Ma twice in the past few years, I was super excited to see them once again, but this time headlining the wonderful Manchester Ritz. They never seem to disappoint with a live show and they certainly upped their game for this bigger stage on a cold Manchester evening.
The set list was a short one, as it usually is, but this did not take away from the immersive experience Jagwar Ma always provide. Their psychedelic sound entrances crowds and allows them to spend 90 minutes thinking about nothing else but the brilliant tones of their tunes. The crowd could not get enough and did not stop dancing from the start of their first song. What Love / Don’t Make It Right, to their last song, The Throw.
Highlights came from fan favourites Loose Ends and Say What You Feel as well as the beautiful Slipping and, my personal favourite, Ordinary. Jagwar Ma are an incredible force of psychedelic rock and I can’t wait to see them once again at Parklife and, hopefully, Glastonbury Festival.
