AMBY and March Of The Real Fly thought of a great way to celebrate the release- posting our lovely interview! So we spoke with the band’s Cam Crew about guilty pleasure songs, high-fives, and audiences!

AMBY: How would you describe March Of The Real Fly’s sound to those unfamiliar with your music?

March Of The Real Fly: Bad musicians, playing little instruments, having fun!

AMBY: What do you have upcoming as far as releases go?

March Of The Real Fly: We’re droppin a new single called ’53’ this week, then an EP in the next few months.

AMBY: Poison is such a clever song, what is the story behind it?

March Of The Real Fly: Recently I (Cam) became obsessed with the word ‘poison’, it’s such an expressive and powerful word. I also was heaps into the song ‘Poison’ by 90’s punk band Rancid at the time.

AMBY: What is your guilty pleasure song?

March Of The Real Fly: Paparazzi – Lady Gaga.

AMBY: Does hailing from Sydney, Australia influence your music and if so, how?

March Of The Real Fly: Most of us grew up in the Blue Mountains, and there used to be heaps of all ages gigs. They were heaps fun, we always danced, and had a crazy times. So we want to be a band that people can do the same!

AMBY: What would a movie based on the band be called?

March Of The Real Fly: Umm maybe- Attach of the Killer March Flys!

AMBY: Which three albums changed your life?

March Of The Real Fly: Daniel Johnston – Yip, Jump Music. Elliott Smith – Figure 8. Nirvana – Nevermind

AMBY: What is the funniest thing to happen to you at one of your gigs?

March Of The Real Fly: Haha so many, but in short we often get people from the audience to play tambourine for us, some people are soooo bad! haha

AMBY: What has you excited for 2013?

March Of The Real Fly: We’ll be doing lots of touring around the place, keen to get back to Melbourne. We love making video clips, so we’ll be making lots of them, and also we are hoping to make a short film! :)

AMBY: If you could create a law that everyone would have to follow, what would it be?

March Of The Real Fly: We would make high fives the common greeting rather than shaking hands, not exactly a law but whatever…

AMBY: And lastly, what’s something about March Of The Real Fly that nobody knows yet?

March Of The Real Fly: The meaning behind our name! Bet you can’t guess! ;)
