Band of Horses: Concert Review!

Band of Horses // Dachau //

Band of Horses

There’s nothing better than a summer of music, no matter how bad the weather might be. About 1600 people attended a gig which definitely was the highlight of this year’s “Summer of Music”, a series of open-air concerts in Dachau, Germany. Tyler Ramsey started the show with 25 minutes of calm and beautiful guitar sounds and thoughtful, heart-rending lyrics which we all enjoyed a lot.

Tyler Ramsey then went off the stage and came up again a few minutes later, as he was about to play together with Ben Bridwell and all the other members of the band we all have waited for in huge excitement, Band of Horses. They had not only bought a wonderful backdrop, coffee, cigarettes and beer with them but also a perfect mix of songs from all their four albums. Listening to the brilliant guitar and bass guitar riffs and not to forget singer Ben Bridwell’s wonderful voice during songs, which were often played without a break at all, like “Cigarettes, Wedding Bands”, “Knock Knock”, “Our Swords” or mega hit “The Funeral” really made it a very special and amazing night no one of the people attending will ever forget. Every single second of the 2 hours of Indie Rock from the American band was incredible, even the band members enjoyed their time in Dachau, they couldn’t stop smiling the whole night. The smile of the audience however, grew really big when Band of Horses started to play one of their last songs from the setlist, “No One’s Gonna Love You” and the very last song of the night “The General Specific” was flying above the city and the singing and dancing audience, carried away by the applause and echoing in our heads as we slowly wandered home, not wanting that this was the end of the “Summer of Music 2013”.
