Melody Calling by The Vaccines
I am a huge fan of The Vaccines, so when I heard they would be releasing a new EP titled Melody Calling I was so psyched! Their EP was released on August 12, and with it being out for half a month it has already gotten a great response. I have been playing it a lot and I can say that The Vaccines have certainly not disappointed their fans.
With this new EP, The Vaccines have taken a different route in their writing style. It still has great melodies and catchy guitar riffs to it like all of their previous tracks, but a different sound. They still capture a summery feel in Melody Calling, but it is more developed and enhanced. The tune has a steady beat throughout it, with the guitars changing tempo and shifting between smooth tones to a nice twangy sound. The chorus has really catchy backing vocals which add a light airy feel. There are also some more backing vocals in the verses which are pleasantly unexpected.
The Vaccines also released a new humorous video to go along with the track on August 18. It features their bassist Arni Arnason who is hung up on a girl and ends up calling the rest of the members of The Vaccines for their advice.
Melody Calling is a melodic and catchy tune that has a great video that will have you cracking up. The Vaccines are definitely taking a leap forward musically, and I know I cannot wait to see what else they have in store in the near future.
