Allow us to formally introduce ourselves – we are a band called Natural Tendency from Bristol in the UK. We’re a five-piece band, consisting of Ed Taylor (lead vocals, guitar), Bec Jevons (synths, backing vocals), Paul Edwards (guitar, backing vocals), Dan Jevons (bass, backing vocals), and Chris Taylor (drums). We like to classify the music that we make under the genre ‘euphoric rock’. Basically what we mean by that is big-riff, dynamic rock songs with anthemic choruses, but with a little extra spice. The ‘spice’ in this case being the use of synths, strings, piano, and various other sounds to add to the mix and produce an end-product which is a little different. To name a few influences as a whole – Muse, Enter Shikari, Young Guns, Biffy Clyro… Our live shows are totally full throttle – we throw everything we’ve got into not only making the on-stage performance energetic and entertaining, but into involving the audience too. Crowd participation is a huge part of the live set, whether it be getting everybody dancing & jumping with us or clapping and singing. So far along our journey we’ve produced two records – the ‘Echoes’ EP released in 2011 and our self-titled mini-album of 2012. Our next recording will be a full debut album, for which we have a tracklist and are looking at starting recording for. Aside from that the big project for the latter part of this year is our second ever tour, which kicks off at the beginning of November. This tour is bigger than our last – we’ll be playing all around the UK in some great places, including a big support show in Nottingham opening for Lower Than Atlantis and Gnarwolves as part of the Dr Martens/This Is Fake DIY Stand For Something Tour 2013 (big mention and thank-you to the guys at Strummerville for putting us forward for the gig!). A couple of interesting things about NT – the recurring surnames in the lineup aren’t a coincidence – the band actually features two pairs of siblings! A family affair…plus Paul of course! Other than that, we enjoy jelly babies. They were on a gig rider once… It’s been great to meet you all, and sometime soon we’d love to come over to Canada and see you face-to-face. For now, if you like what you’ve read and enjoy the music below, give us a like on Facebook and check out our website for a free download of the mini-album (six tracks) we made last year.
See you soon!
