Gimme Your Answers: An Interview w/ Morning Parade

Morning Parade

After unveiling their new track Shake The Cage, UK rockers Morning Parade dropped their Alienation EP. With a new record due for release in early 2014, A Music Blog, Yea? spoke with the band about what to expect from the LP, stage invasions, and their pre-show warm up! Check out their great answers here:

AMBY: Hello Morning Parade, thanks for speaking with AMBY. What have you been up to lately?

Morning Parade: We’ve had a little time off after our tour with Biffy Clyro and now we’re finalising artwork, videos and rehearsing our live show in preparation for more touring and the release of our second album next year.

AMBY: Which three songs are the quintessential Morning Parade?

Morning Parade: That’s not fair, you can’t define yourself in three songs!! haha

AMBY: What’s the story behind the band’s new track Shake The Cage?

Morning Parade: It was inspired by the frustrations of releasing your first record, touring hard in a van for 10 months and creatively needing to explode.

AMBY: The song is taken from your Alienation EP. What’s the significance behind the EP’s title?

Morning Parade: It’s the title of the lead track and our first single from the new album which will be out on Dec 10 worldwide.

AMBY: Your new LP is due for release in early 2014. Is there a working title for the album yet?

Morning Parade: Yes, we have decided on a title. We knew what it would be pretty early on when we were writing it. Our baby has a name and it shall be revealed very soon

AMBY: When creating the album, what will be your ultimate goal?

Morning Parade: Our ultimate goal was to be the truest version of ourselves that we could be so that we could make something we could be truly happy with.

AMBY: What’s the craziest thing to happen to you at a gig?

Morning Parade: Lots of strange things have happened to us, from girls in the front row wearing vibrators that react to sound – Fans shaving our logo into their hair – to stage invading the Wombats encore dressed as super heroes for a final farewell on the US tour we did with them.

AMBY: What’s currently on your playlist?

Morning Parade: Arctic Monkeys, Polica, Father John Misty, Ghostpoet, Queens of the Stone Age, St Lucia lots…

AMBY: What’s the best release of the year?

Morning Parade: My personal favourite is Arctic Monkeys AM.

AMBY: And lastly, what’s something about Morning Parade that nobody knows yet?

Morning Parade: Our warm up music prior to going on stage is the Terminator 2 theme tune…

Thank you Morning Parade, for giving us your answers!
