It’s no wonder Canadian trio Mounties have been referred to as a “super group”. Releasing their debut album Thrash Rock Legacy on March 4th, the band have created an eclectic and fun debut by combining nuances of electro-pop, new-wave, and rock and roll.
Before hitting the stage at Toronto’s Lee’s Palace, A Music Blog, Yea? had the opportunity of speaking with Steve Bays (Hot Hot Heat), Hawksley Workman, Ryan Dahle (Limblifter), and Parker Bossley (Fur Trade). I must admit, having admired all of the members’ other projects for years now, it was pretty funny to think of how much talent was standing there in one tiny hallway.
Without a doubt, Mounties is one of the most passionate (and humourous) bands we’ve had the pleasure of speaking with. Watch our interview with them below as we discussed the debut album, funny touring moments, who they listen to when they put their headphones on, and Hall & Oates.
