Hi there Guys,
We’re Mick and Max, two guys from Melbourne, Australia who have been writing, recording and playing live shows now as Halcyon Drive for almost 2 years.
We like to think that you would fit us in the indie/alternative/pop bracket- something like the disowned lovechild of Bon Iver and Bombay Bicycle Club, if that ever happened!
On stage it’s just the two of us with Max mostly vandalising his kit and Mick taking caring of the melodies on guitar and vocals. Our live shows are also touted for being among the most consistently sweaty on the Melbourne scene, and we try to keep things interesting by employing improvised live looping, as well as Mick jumping on a second set of drums at times throughout a set.
Our latest single “Whitewash” was recorded with producer Steven Schram (San Cisco, Little Red) at a studio constructed entirely of hard rubbish in the Melbourne suburb of Northcote. The plan is to release an EP in the 3rd quarter of the year, with a sneaky follow-up single to “Whitewash” coming soon!
Hopefully we’ll get to catch you sometime soon on the other side of the Pacific Ocean!
