The rise of the smaller boutique festivals over the past few years has started to turn me into somewhat of a festival goer whilst I usually prefer to watch artists in a more intimate arena than stood in a field with thousands of other people I find myself being drawn to more and more festivals each year. The smaller scale events such as Chester Rocks, YNot and Kendall Calling to name, but a few are not only supporting a whole host of upcoming bands, but are pulling in the big headliners too and this year Blackthorn Music Festival is no different.
With a line up covering everything from “indie, rock n roll and folk, featuring unsigned and signed talent” the festival takes place during 25th- 27th July at Etherow Country Park Manchester. Local talents such as TG Elias, Puppet Rebellion, No Hot Ashes and The Tapestry will this year share the stage with headliners Dodgy and Reverend and the Makers.
