Gimme Your Answers: An Interview w/ The Pierces

The Pierces
Los Angeles-based duo The Pierces (comprised of Allison and Catherine Pierce) are readying themselves for the release of their fifth full-length album Creation (out September 1st). In support of the album, the sisters will hit the road in September for a UK Tour. To learn more about the record we recently spoke with Catherine Pierce. Enjoy the new interview below as we discuss their writing process, Game Of Thrones, and believing in the super-natural!

AMBY: Hello The Pierces, thanks for speaking with us today. What have you been up to lately?

The Pierces: Hello!  We are happy to speak with you.  We have been getting ready for our album release and upcoming tour.

AMBY: How would you describe each other in one word?

The Pierces: You can’t ask a sister that question! We know each other too well…there are too many layers, too many words!

AMBY: You’ll soon release your fifth album Creation, congrats! What was one of the highlights you had while creating Creation?

The Pierces: Thanks! I loved the writing process for the this album. I locked myself away and just got lost in it.

AMBY: What’s the inspiration behind the record’s title?

The Pierces: Well, we have a song called Creation and we just felt like the word was a good, strong one and summed up the record in a way.  It’s our little creation.

AMBY: You’ve been sharing songs’ meanings with fans via Facebook over the course of the last month. Lyrically, which song of the new album is your personal favourite and why?

The Pierces: I love the lyrics to ‘Monsters’.  Allison wrote that one and when you listen to it, it paints such an amazing picture in your mind. That’s what good lyrics do, right?  It’s like a fairytale for grown-ups.

AMBY: What’s the best item a fan has asked you to sign?

The Pierces: We signed a very nice boob recently.

AMBY: Your music has been featured in shows Beauty & the Beast, Gossip Girl, and Pretty Little Liars. If you could have your music featured in any film or show, which would it be?

The Pierces: Game Of Thrones could probably work “Kings” into the finale! :)

AMBY: Lastly, what’s something about The Pierces that nobody knows yet?

The Pierces: We both believe in pretty much anything that’s super-natural, mystical, or otherworldly …but you probably already knew that.

Thank you The Pierces, for giving us your answers!
