You’ve GOT to Hear This: Mounties – “Merry Christmas Maybe”

Mounties - Sleighed
Shh, don’t tell Santa, but I’m a bit of a Grinch when it comes to Christmas tunes. That is, until I heard “Merry Christmas Maybe” by Mounties which is one of the many songs on the compilation “Sleighed” put out by Light Organ Records. If you are not familiar with Mounties, they are a supergroup consisting of Hawksley Workman, Steve Bays (Hot Hot Heat), and Ryan Dahle (Limblifter) who are making waves in the Canadian music scene.

If dreamy, catchy songs are your thing, you are going to love “Merry Christmas Maybe”. With the sweet lullaby voice of Steve Bays layered against the sexy growl of Hawksley Workman, this song manages to create a feeling of both hope for a New Year to come and the nostalgia of a Christmas past.

Do yourself a favour: go grab a mug of hot chocolate, some fuzzy slippers, and curl up on the couch to watch the snow fall out the window as the Mounties soothe your inner Grinch into a Christmas trance.
