Madison Lawrence is a 22-year-old singer-songwriter hailing from Nashville. Lawrence has managed to create quite a following on social media from Vine to YouTube and even on Twitter she has amassed many dedicated followers. She is extremely proud to release her music to them and they love every last bit of it. She’s been in the business for about three years but she first got her from being in a band called Table for Two in 2009 but recently she has become a solo act and she released her first single January 31st! Her single is called Keep Me From You and it’s available for pre-order on the iTunes Store. But before you go rushing on to iTunes I’m going to tell you a little bit about this song that’ll make you fall in love with it just that much more.
When I first spoke to Lawrence, I asked her what the inspiration or theme of the song was and she told me that it’s to not be afraid to open yourself up to people because it may be scary but it can also lead you to amazing things. Madison then added that it was more of a story then the message but listeners can still take away a message from it. Madison believes that the song is relatable to people in the fact that almost everybody in their life will go through a relationship that starts in the way that she describes in her song and it will resonate with people forever and I definitely agree. It’s not just Madison’s vocals that set the tone in the song it’s basically all integral parts of the music making process coming together at its peak and for this singers debut song, I definitely think that she’s set the bar high for many newcomers into the industry.
The song itself starts off a bit slower and gradually builds up to her powerful voice. I personally think it shows off Madison’s creative ability to show that she wants to achieve balance within the vocals and the background music. Sometimes I find that if artist uses their voice to overpower the instruments in the background it actually makes for a worse song and I feel Madison knows that — it’s very clear that she knows that doing so doesn’t really work out in the musicians favor! Although Madison has been compared to singing along the likes of Kelly Clarkson Miley Cyrus she does bring in something different to the table that I’ve never heard before. I think that she takes all of the most amazing qualities of artists that have inspired her, she puts it into her own style, and then she puts this whole 180° twist on it and it just makes you wonder what the hell was going on the in the music industry before her. Lawrence has a strong voice to say the least.
I can’t wait to see where Madison goes with her music. I know that I didn’t talk much about the song, but let me just tell you that you have to pre-order it. it’s one of those songs that has a potential to define generation(in my humble opinion anyway) in that she speaks what we’re all thinking about love, and what some artists haven’t even touched on. I can’t wait to see how far she goes and let me tell you I’ll be here every step of the way for Madison. so go check out Keep Me From You available now on the iTunes Store.
