Hey you! Yes, you. Nice to meet you. We’re Worry Dolls, a indie/folk duo from London who sing country-style harmonies. It’s difficult to categorize your own music, and a good friend of ours once said that he would never listen to a band who used a slash when describing their genre, but I’m sure he’ll get over it. We released a new EP in June called Burden. We’re so excited that it’s finally out into the big wide world! A lot of musicians say that releasing a record is a bit like having a baby. But for us, it feels like our child is finally moving out. Emotional in many ways, but also, WAY overdue! Like, seriously. Get a job.
We just got back from a couple of weeks writing songs in Nashville, which was absolutely amazing. We were so inspired that we nearly wrote an entire album out there, which we’re going to go back and record next year. We’ve been listening to a lot of country and Americana recently – as you will probably be able to tell listening to Burden – you should definitely check out Drew Holcomb and the Neighbours – they’re a really great East Nashville band.
This track, Be So Cruel, is the first one we’re putting out from Burden. It’s about old friends, wondering where they are, what they’re doing, who’s making them smile…and why the hell aren’t they on Facebook? Yea, that’s basically it. There’s people I deeply regret not keeping in contact with. But it’s kind of too late now, ya know? Time can be so cruel. Anyway, enjoy!
