Dear AMBY readers,
We’re Svelte, an electronic duo from Bristol, UK. We’re releasing a stream-only track (SoundCloud and Spotify) on the 1st of every month for a year, culminating in an album summer 2016.
Made up of Mary and Jake, we met playing in the Bristol University Symphony Orchestra and quickly bonded over a secret love of pop music (often frowned upon by Classical music lovers). We regularly spent time after rehearsals talking about everything from Katy Perry to Radiohead to The Cocteau Twins. Jake started producing some of Mary’s solo material during the twilight months of his degree, and we both stayed in Bristol to continue our respective music careers. About a year later, we ended up living together and after some experiments remixing Mary’s solo works, we decided to pursue that sound-world directly and Svelte was born.
