Released on 29 February, “Totem” is the debut single from Hartlepool teenage quartet PLAZA. It follows the release of a well received 6 track Mixtape in 2015, a year that saw them play a string of live dates including some tasty support slots for the likes of Jaws and Lisbon.
Coming in at just below the two minute mark “Totem” certainly packs a punch in a short space of time and is something of a tour de force of post-indie perfection, taking inspiration from their influences without being overwhelmed by them. And there’s clearly a lot to come after this very promising debut: to dig deeper check out the live video for “Vancouver” (with Immy Williams on vocals and Josh Ingledew on keys) here.
With a lively social media presence, PLAZA is Bradley Lennard on lead vocals and guitar, Will Hamilton on bass, Matty Swinburne on drums, and Matty Nicholson on guitar.
