5 acts we’re stoked to see at Field Trip 2016

Field Trip
One of my favourite festival experiences was attending Field Trip 2014 – it was a gorgeous summer day, the line-up was stellar, there was a lively family-friendly atmosphere, incredible visual art, and free water (I know, a rarity which must be noted). Whenever I think about festival highlights, this one always comes to mind.

Self-coined as “Toronto’s downtown community music and artists festival”, Arts & Crafts’ annual music festival Field Trip is back this year and will take place at Historic Fort York & Garrison Common on June 4th and 5th, and AMBY can’t wait to experience Field Trip all over again.

This year’s line-up includes The National, Robyn, July Talk, Of Montreal, Santigold, DIIV, Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, Jazz Cartier, and so many other amazing artists. Here are 5 acts we cannot wait to see;

July Talk

Hands down one of the band live bands around. With their sexy, gritty alternative-rock songs, July Talk bring music lovers into their wild and playful world every single set. The group take the stage on June 4th.

Dear Rouge

Husband-wife (and recent JUNO award winning) duo Dear Rouge are set to perform songs from their latest electronic-rock release Black To Gold at this year’s Field Trip. Be sure to catch Danielle and Drew McTaggart’s performance on June 4th — it always lives up to the hype.

Brave Shores

Toronto’s very own sibling-fronted duo Brave Shores will bring their bouncy electro-pop jams to fans on June 4th. There’s something infectious about this band’s carefree and positive vibes that consistently makes for a fun live show.

of Montreal

of Montreal hands down performed the weirdest, most theatrical show we’ve ever seen when they took the stage at Dundas Square a few years ago. We’re pumped to relive the craziness and soak in their glam weirdo-pop tracks on June 5th.

Eliot Sumner

AMBY caught Eliot Sumner’s Toronto debut last year at The Drake Hotel, so we can vouch that Sumner and their new wave nuanced debut Information create one hell of an intense live show. Sumner takes the stage on June 5th.

There are tons of other bands we can’t wait to see! The AMBY team will be running around the festival photographing and interviewing, so if you happen to see any of us out at a set, be sure to say howdy! For more information about Field Trip and to purchase your tickets, please visit here.
