The Classic Concerts: a two-day live music adventure

Running AMBY, I constantly see different festival and concert billings, so it takes a lot for a line-up to really stand out to me. However, I saw this one and immediately freaked out!

Taking place in two iconic cities and featuring six renowned acts, The Classic Concerts is a two-day event featuring six legendary bands: The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers, and Earth, Wind & Fire.

I’m an absolute sucker for seventies and eighties music, and all of these bands are signature artists in my vinyl collection. From attempting to hit Stevie Nicks’ sultry low notes on Landslide to harmonizing Peaceful Easy Feeling and dreaming of the California sun with The Eagles, these bands have provided so many memories for me, and I’m sure they’ve shared the same with millions of other music lovers.

When you really think about it, these six artists hold some of the most legendary rock records ever written – Rumours by Fleetwood Mac is hands down one of the best albums from the seventies (if not of all time) and Can’t Buy a Thrill by Steely Dan is packed with guitar-driven hook-laden material – and now fans can indulge in all of these musical earworms in the flesh. The Classic Concerts have fashioned a concert that’s guaranteed to provide a blast of present feel-good nostalgia. It’s no wonder the show has been claimed as “the concert event of the year”.

Concert one will take place at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on July 15th/16th and concert two at Citi Field in New York on July 29th/30th. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 7th at 10AM.
