I’m extremely proud that my job allows me to experience so many new adventures and work with tons of cool companies! With that said, I’m thrilled to announce that I’m going to The Netherlands to team up with ESNS!
ESNS is a huge music festival based in The Netherlands which runs from January 16th-19th. I’m going to be covering the Eurosonic side of things which showcases a crazy amount of European artists over three of the four days AND takes over more than thirty venues in the city centre of Groningen.
I’ve never been to Europe and this is such an unique and fun way to visit for the very first time. The line-up is stacked and I’m so excited to see some bands I already like while discovering tons I’ve never heard of before. Plus, this city looks so cute!
Before I land in Amsterdam, I want to shed some light on some of the acts I cannot wait to see live. Here’s my list of the Top Five Artists You Can’t Miss:
SONS | Wed 16 Jan | Huize Maas
These garage-punks won a music competition and afterwards took off in Belgium and The Netherlands. These boys are your band if you like your music loud, chaotic, and dancable.
Bishop Briggs | Thu 17 Jan | Simplon
Known for her soulful and raspy voice, dark lyricism, and gritty sound, Bishop Briggs has taken over radio waves around the world. I’m no stranger to her tunes as I’ve interviewed Briggs many times, and I can’t wait to see her again while in The Netherlands.
At Pavillon | Thu 17 Jan | Vrijdag
These guys are noisy and I like it. This indie-pop foursome perform really catchy and melodic songs, and their vocalist has such a unique voice — almost like he’s sing-talking. I also dig how their songs have a real Foals meets Bloc Party vibe.
FEET | Fri 18 Jan | Vera
I’m all about that indie-garage rock with the jangly guitars and infectious melodies you can bop your head around to. I don’t know much about these guys aside from the fact that they formed in school and how they “just want to have fun”. I’m stoked to have some fun with them at their show.
RENDEZ VOUS | Fri 18 Jan | Der AA-Theater
This post-punk band from France are so awesome. I’m not even at Eurosonic yet and I’m already discovering so many new bands. I’ve read a few live reviews on the group and they supposedly put on an amazing live show… I shall experience it for myself on Friday night.
This festival has so much to offer for all music lovers, including myself, and I cannot wait to hop on that plane Monday evening to finally visit Europe and check out so many new artists with Eurosonic! Be sure to follow me on social media for tons of behind the scenes photos, videos, vlogs, and fun! Tickets for ESNS are available here.
